During her graduate studies, she worked with SC DHEC to develop a comprehensive document that examined opioid usage and vulnerability in South Carolina. Below, you can view Ayanna's success story, which was shared by the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina.
Ayanna's research will contribute to a future publication regarding the burden of opioids in South Carolina. As a result of the practicum project, the following objectives were addressed:
• Opioid-related overdose rates
• Opioid-related death rates
• At risk groups based on age, gender, race, and county of residence
• Associated risks of opioid addition
• South Carolina comparison of opioid addiction to the United States
• Intervention strategies
