Lutheran Services Carolinas Disaster Services Work

Ayanna served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member for one year and then transitioned into the Disaster Coordinator role for South Carolina and North Carolina. Some of her accomplishments are listed below.

Needs Assessment

A 16-page needs assessment was developed to gain a greater understanding of how to better serve the vulnerable populations of Richland County.

Emergency To-Go Bags

  • $1,800 worth of local resources were raised to fund the project. 

  • 100 bags were distributed to low-income families, disadvantaged youth, Richland County School District One homeless youth, and churches.
